Summer Festivals & Events  
Music in the Park Every Wednesday evening in July and August

Enjoy the talents of either local or travelling musical artists in our beautiful park beside the water – stunning views and a family-friendly atmosphere. Performances begin at 6:30 pm and are held at the Nakusp Municipal Park Gazebo (above the beach), so bring your lawn chair, sit back and enjoy the show. 

Bad weather ? If we’re not at the gazebo, we’re in the arena auditorium (Nakusp & District Sports Complex located at 200 – 8th Ave NW).

Canada Day Celebrations July 1st Start your Canada Day with a delicious Pancake Breakfast , followed by a parade, and then enjoy a variety of activities at the community park such as kid’s races, games, farmers’ market, a concession and music in the gazebo. A fireworks show tops it all off, just after dark.
Slo-Pitch Tournament August long weekend  
Nakusp Art Walk Self-guided tours, May 1 – August 30 Various businesses and artists participate in a self-guided tour of local art that is organized by the Arrow Lakes District Arts Council. Maps of the tour are available at the Nakusp Visitor Centre and at participating artwalk locations. Look for the iconic Art Walk Flags on the sidewalk outside of participating locations.
Nakusp Farmers’ Market Saturdays from mid-May to mid-October Nakusp hosts a busy Farmers’ Market in downtown Nakusp. Come and browse through the wares of our local artisans, take home fresh local produce, baked goods and other treasures.
Hosted Hikes Various dates throughout the summer The Nakusp & Area Community Trails Society (PDF) coordinates informal group hikes on different trails throughout the summer. Look for their booth at the Farmers’ Market, or check their website for hiking details.

Nakusp Museum

The Nakusp & District Museum is home to over 5,500 artifacts from early life on the Arrow Lakes. Our region is rich in history – from sternwheelers on the Arrow Lakes to agriculture, mining and logging. The Museum opens in May and September from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm and during June, July, and August from 9:30 am to 5:00 pm.

Sandy Beach, Waterfront Walkway, Skatepark, Children’s Playground, Tennis Courts . . .

Check out our beautiful public beach and our Waterfront Walkway which features stunning floral and horticultural displays and a Japanese Garden. Our parks & trails are here for your enjoyment!
