Wildfire season can change quickly. Taking a few simple steps today can help you stay safe and ready if an evacuation order is issued.
5 Things You Can Do Right Now
- Gather Important Items - Keep all important documents, medications, and a Grab & Go Kit together and easy to access.
- Make a Transportation Plan - Don't have a vehicle? Start planning now. Talk with trusted neighbours who may be able to help transport you during an evacuation. Exchange contact information and discuss availability during peak fire season. If no transportation is available during an emergency, call 911.
- Talk to Your Health & Service Providers - If health concerns could make evacuating more difficult, speak with your healthcare or service providers about support options and recommendations.
- Download the BC Services App - Install the BC Services App on a mobile device that you'll have with you during an evacuation. This can save valuable time at Reception Centres and help you access supports more easily.
- Create Your Profile - Once you've downloaded the app, set up your personal profile so you're ready if an emergency occurs.
