Thinking of running for Council? Mark your calendar!
If you're planning to run for Mayor or Council in the 2026 Local Election, it's important to know the nomination timeline.
Nomination Period
- September 1, 2026 (9:00 AM) to September 11, 2026 (4:00 PM)
During this time, prospective candidates must submit a completed nomination package to the Chief Election Officer. You'll officially become a candidate once your nomination documents have been received, reviewed, and declared complete by the Chief Election Officer.
Changed your mind after submitting your nomination? Candidates may withdraw by submitting a withdrawal form no later than 4:00 PM on September 18, 2026.
Thinking ahead? Candidate packages will be available from the Village Office beginning July 28, 2026, giving prospective candidates plenty of time to prepare before nominations open.
