Advance and General Election Voting days are coming up quickly!
Make sure you're prepared before heading to the polls. Here are a few important things to know:
Who Can Vote?
To vote, you must meet the eligibility requirements, including being a Canadian citizen, being 18 years of age or older, and having lived in British Columbia for at least six months immediately before registering.
Non-Resident Property Electors
If you own property within the Village of Nakusp but do not live within the municipal boundaries, you may still be eligible to vote as a non-resident property elector. Additional requirements and restrictions apply, particularly for properties with multiple owners.
When are Ballots Counted?
Ballot counting begins after voting places close at 8:00 PM on Saturday, October 17, 2026.
When Will Election Results be Announced?
Preliminary results may be announced following the ballot count; however, official election results may be announced at a later date. Official results must be declared within four days of the close of voting.
