Effective immediately, Category 2 and Category 3 fires are prohibited within the Village of Nakusp until further notice.
Category 1 campfires are still permitted, provided they meet the following requirements:

No larger than 0.5 metres high by 0.5 metres wide

Burn firewood only (no debris, branches, or yard clean-up)

Attended at all times by someone with at least one firefighting hand tool or 8 litres of water

Fully extinguished before leaving the area
