Thinking about running for Council? Here's who can run. 🗳️
You don't have to live in the Village of Nakusp or own property here to run for Council. If you're interested in serving your community, you may be eligible if you:
- Are 18 years of age or older on General Voting Day (October 17, 2026);
- Are a Canadian citizen;
- Have been a resident of British Columbia for at least six months (as of March 10, 2026) immediately before filing your nomination documents; and
- Not be disqualified under the Local Government Act or any other enactment from voting or being nominated for, elected to, or holding office in British Columbia.
