Ready to put your name forward for the Local Election? Here's what you'll need.
Before becoming an official candidate for the 2026 Local Election, you'll need to complete a few important steps.
- Secure 10 nominators who are eligible electors residing within the Village of Nakusp; and
- Complete and submit your nomination package to the Chief Election Officer (or designate) during the nomination period.
A nomination package includes several required forms and declarations, all of which must be completed for your nomination to be considered complete. Some documents are available for public inspection, while others remain confidential. Once your nomination has been accepted and declared complete, you'll officially become a candidate.
Nomination packages will be available at the Village Office beginning July 28, 2026, during regular business hours (Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM-4:00 PM).
