Project Progress
The Council for the Village of Nakusp has commissioned a Waterfront Master Plan to guide the Village in repairing the Waterfront. The Plan is necessary because the infrastructure is starting to show its age, and underground infrastructure will need to be replaced in the near future. A completed Waterfront Master Plan will benefit the Village by displaying the Community's readiness and commitment to achieving the project when grant opportunities arise.
Surveying the Waterfront is the first step in the project; those orange 'Xs' along the Waterfront are part of this process. In the coming weeks, opportunities will be announced to engage with the public to learn what citizens love about the Waterfront and any changes they desire. For example, do people want to see a public gathering place, better access to the water, cafes/business opportunities, and even how the Marina fits into the Waterfront? This is the Community's opportunity to dream big!
